At Wood Stabell Law Group, PLLC, business is our focus. Our clients are sophisticated entrepreneurs, small high-growth companies, and investors who need top-quality legal advice—but are smart enough not to pay top dollar for it.
Founder and managing attorney Nancy Wood Stabell has an M.B.A. in finance and a J.D. with a focus in Entrepreneurial and Transactional Law. She has served as in-house counsel for a large private company, and represented business and corporate clients for over a decade at large, well-respected law firms before founding Wood Stabell Law Group. Nancy has assembled a select team of attorneys chosen specifically for their skills and strengths that dovetail with the needs of our clients.
Like the businesses with which we work, we are lean and effective. We understand our clients’ needs from a business perspective as well as a legal one, and we take pride in being a part of the team that keeps them moving forward and gets them across the finish line.
We have walked in the corporate world, we speak the language, and we understand how legal decisions translate into real-world outcomes. Our attorneys offer a broad range of services to small- and medium-sized businesses, including:
We are business people first and attorneys second. Our clients enjoy working with us because we take their business very seriously, and ourselves much less so. We take the legal issues off of their plate so they can focus on what they do best—running and growing their business.
When choosing a mergers and acquisitions attorney, you need the right fit. Does the firm have experience working with deals of the value, size, and complexity you are negotiating? Are you comfortable with the attorney’s depth of knowledge and negotiation style? Will your work be handled by a senior attorney, or by a less-experienced associate? Does the firm have the bandwidth to give your deal the attention it deserves?
At Wood Stabell, we work with select M&A clients whose needs we are well-suited to meet. Our experience allows us to work effectively and efficiently, and we truly enjoy negotiating deals. Our clients include private investors, companies looking to grow through acquisition, and owners who are transitioning out, or to the next phase of their life adventure.
We represent clients with regard to:
Emerging companies, family businesses and investors in technology, manufacturing, distribution and other industries rely on our attorneys for counsel in a wide range of strategic corporate transactions and business arrangements. We advise family businesses, startups and early-stage companies in securities offerings to access the capital needed for growth and assist angel investors and venture capital funds in investments in new and emerging companies. Particularly, we have extensive experience assisting companies to raise capital through private placements in reliance on the Regulation D safe harbors from the registration requirements of the Securities Act.
Wood Stabell advises clients regarding their commercial real estate acquisition, disposition and leasing needs. Real estate is a significant asset; we make sure that commercial real estate transactions serve our clients’ larger goals and that their interests are protected.
We work with our clients at every step of a real estate transaction, drafting and reviewing contracts, assisting with financing, obtaining title work, and ensuring that every detail is addressed before closing. Nancy Stabell is a licensed title agent and writes for Old Republic Title Insurance Group.
