Attorney Joanne Sowell joined the Wood Stabell Law Group team in 2020. Her current practice focuses on corporate law and mergers and acquisitions.
Joanne has lived in Nashville since shortly after graduating from law school and grew up in Knoxville. Respected among her peers for her understanding of marketing strategy, management, and sales, Joanne is also known for her commitment to client service. She takes the time to understand her clientsâ history, development, current needs, and future goals. Colleagues and clients appreciate her attention to detail, as well as her ability to take a broad view of a situation.
Joanne is one of those rare attorneys who can excel at her job without being consumed by it. In addition to her focus on her legal practice, Joanne is an activist for social justice, entrepreneur, and a mom who is active in the community and uses her many talents to help those around her. Among her accomplishments is having founded and run a small womenâs clothing company (Rosa Hermosa) whose proceeds supported the education of girls living in the Our Little Roses home in Honduras. As a former business owner herself, Joanne has a unique perspective on the needs of the firmâs clients.
Prior to joining Wood Stabell, Joanne also had extensive involvement with Room in the Inn, a Nashville organization offering support services to the cityâs homeless community. She worked in development and communications for the organization for four years. In addition, Joanne has served on the boards of directors of multiple Nashville charitable organizations.
With such diverse talents and interests, Joanne fits right in at a firm that prides itself on seeing the big picture and being people first, attorneys second. She believes that professional achievement means little if it isnât accompanied by meaningful service to others.
